Jimi James, baritone from Syracuse, NY, returns to NH to sing Songs of Travel, a song cycle of nine songs originally written for baritone voice. He will be offering opera arias and music theatre songs as well. Jimi will be accompanied by Anna Maria Dwyer, a pianist/vocalist, who has been accompanying singers and productions for the last ten years in Southern NH and the Boston area.
Jimi James, from Granite State Opera's La Traviata, sang the role of Germont (2008). Before that he took the stage as Lucia's brother Enrico, in Lucia di Lammermoor. In awe, audience members were on their feet in applause for both performances. Jimi also was here in January 2009, debuting as artistic director and also singing King Melchior in Amahl and the Night Visitors. Every time Jimi has sung in NH, he has impressed audiences with his rich, resonant voice and his commanding stage presence. ![]() Jimi James and Anna Maria Dwyer in Amahl and the Night Visitors.
